My Updates

2 wks out, best start training!

On Saturday 3rd June I'll be setting off with my father - John, 76 yrs old - and brother - Ben, 37 yrs old - to undertake the Cateran Yomp, which means hiking across the Cairngorms over 24 hrs and anything up to 54 miles! We have a slightly more modest ambition of hitting the 36 miles point, so the Silver finish marker in the time available, but you never know.

With my father having signed up on a whim for this challenge, without really reading the small print, we are now all fully read into the task ahead and looking forward to the challenge; what a great bonding experience it will be...! The joke might be on my father as he has been informed that he is the oldest competitor this year, so the benefit of an added spotlight on the team.

All in, we feel up for the challenge and are privileged to be raising money for such a worthy cause. With me still a serving officer in the Corps of Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, my father a retired officer of the Royal Army Dental Corps and my brother a super fit, very much non-military, but supportive civilian, we understand the benefit your donations can make to the lives of Army personnel and their families and the veteran community.

We hope we can count on your support with a donation and in thinking of our sore feet in the late evening of Saturday 3rd June when you are watching Netflix with a nice cuppa.

Thank you,

John, Nick & Ben - Team Aitken
