The Virtual Frontline Walk 2021

My Activity Tracking

My target 300 kms

I've created this page because I want to make a difference

I completed this event virtually last year, visiting many war graves from WW1 & WWII; This year they have asked me to be an event ambassador, as I'm inspired by the work of ABF The Soldiers' do day in day out, week in week out to support Veterans and Soldiers families in need. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can use the 'Donate' button.

The more people that know about ABF The Soldiers' Charity, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot.

Day 5 - Gosport CWGC

2 short yomps around some more WW1 & WW2 local sites, 80Km completed so far.

Day 4 Another 20Km added

Spent the day visiting Fareham CWGC sites in Hampshire, WW1 & WW2 graves visited & a few memorials photographed on my travels.

Day 3 vFLW

Today I did a 20Km walk around parts of the IOW, visiting Ryde Cemetery & war memorial.

Day 1 Up at Dawn

As a first day I did a quick 5Km walk to my local cemetery before dawn & used the CWG app to help me find fallen soldiers from WW1; I paused at each grave, took a picture & remembered them. I have decided to carry my VFLW cross with me and write each location I visit on the cross; I hope to visit a few new places by 11/11/21.

1 Week to go

Wishing everyone taking part in this year's Virtual Front Line Walk the best of luck! I'll shortly be pushing out the miles in support of this wonderful charity. I found it very inspiring last year, visiting local my War memorials and locating family name sakes lost in both WW1 & 2. This year I plan to travel further afield to some different Commonwealth War Memorials & Graves around the UK, I've downloaded the CWGC App on my phone, as it will come in useful. As it's my second year of this event and I enjoyed it so much last year, I volunteered as an Event Ambassador, so if anyone new wants help or advice, just get in contact via the FaceBook group and I will try and help if I can, or if you want to join a virtual team, I've created one called the ABF VFLW Plodders Club, everyone welcome! I look forward to seeing your pictures, posts and progress throughout the event and remember - there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing choices!. Have fun and stay safe everyone

Hi Steve I haven’t entered the frontline walk as yet, I am expecting my free time in October and November will now be taken up with university open day visits with daughter number 2, so I thought I would sponsor you instead. I’ll look out for your progress and posts! Best wishes Anya Page
