Cateran Yomp 2022

On the 4th-5th June 2022, I am taking part in The Cateran Yomp. A 54-mile hike in 24 hours across rural Perthshire.

It’s going to be tough but it will raise vital funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Army's National Charity, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.

Bonus and overtime V's collecting in the street

I'm not sure if my time is worth spent collecting in the street or working overtime with a guaranteed payment, especially as so many people pay by card these days. A card reader that added peoples name and donations direct to my page would be good. From time to time I will be adding to my sponsorship instead of shaking the can outside supermarkets. I had a very non eventful 6 yrs unlike so many, these yomps are my way of helping the many that didn't. 

First one completed

With little or no training due to work and late entry I managed Gold in 22 hrs, I've signed up for June 22 to see if I can do better. the last hill had to be walked up backwards due to the pain in the muscles around the left hip, It was hard going from the bronze check point but, a great sense of achievement when I got to the gold. Great thankyou to everyone that sponsored me, Hopefully I can do another great job next year.
