I'm fundraising for ABF The Soldier's Charity
On the 5th-6th June 2021, I am taking part in The Cateran Yomp. My goal is the 22 mile bronze distance with maybe an upside push to 36 miles and silver. It’s going to be tough but it will raise vital funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Army's National Charity, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.
Walking isn't my strong point. I have suffered nerve damaged to my right leg since a road traffic accident while serving in the Armed Forces which makes walking painful and a challenge. Challenges are there to be faced though and that is why I am taking part, as much to prove to myself I can do this as it is to raise money for a fantastic charity.
Please give generously, and thank you for your support!
Final training completeOver the past few months I have been increasing my distances and this weekend saw me take on the hardest challenge so far - the fan dance, 15+ miles in the Brecon Beacons including two climbs of Pen y Fan from different directions. Great weather and great company saw me through this one albeit if I never have to go up Jacob's Ladder again I will not be disappointed. No records were broken but then no injuries were sustained (not through lack of trying) so all in all it was a success.
Thank you to my Sponsors
