Here we go!!
Here we go troops. It's time for me to try and raise some cash for a noble cause.
On 4-5 June 2022 I will take part in the 54 mile, 24 hr monster trek around Blairgowrie know as the Cateran Yomp. The Yomp is organised by the Army Benevolent fund (ABF) in order to raise funds for the charity.
Since 2016 I have supported the event either by giving my time to help man a water stop in 2016 and a bio boot wash in 2017 and 2021 and also by completing the yomp in 2018 and 2019.
I now feel it's time to get my boots on once again, but this time with some of my friends in tow.
In line with my aspirations to get to Gold, and as this is the year where I hit 50 years old, it is also my aim to do a series of physical challenges on the run up to the yomp. One of these is that on my 50th birthday I will jog the 50 kms or so along the Union Canal from Falkirk to Edinburgh.
So what do I ask of you? I'll be up front, I would like some of your hard
earned dosh to enhance my sponsorship coffers. I'm not asking for much, sometimes the smallest of donations can help achieve the biggest of goals. In total I aim to raise £400 for the ABF.
What do you get in return? My gratitude and the unseen gratitude of all those serving soldiers, veterans and their families that the ABF helps every year.
