The Medicine Ball Challenge

Even in 2021, there is still a significant stigma attached to mental health problems, including stress, anxiety, PTSD and Depression. I am taking on the Medicine Ball challenge to help break these stigmas and get people talking about their mental health. It's ok to speak up and say i'm not ok.

The challenge involves cuffing a 3kg Medicine Ball to my wrist for 7 days. It may not sound that heavy but being tied to the medicine ball continuously for 7 days is a significant burden. The ball becomes a physical, visual and tangible representation of the invisible burden of mental health so many of us can experience.

The challenge raises money for the following charities. Any support you can offer will be gratefully received and split evenly between the causes.

My Updates

Day no 3

Long day at work today . Had a lovely chat with a lady on the  bus this morning who was curious on what the ball was all about.  She said it's a fantastically thing that I am doing and that mental health is verry important to tallk about and that we don't need to judge people.  Especially with what the world has been going through the last few years . Also that its important that everyone receives the same amount of support regardless if thay are male or female

Day no2

Day no2 with the ball .not had a chance to get out and about with it yet as chocked with cold , my nearly 2 year old son found it funny that I had it locked to me . Chilld day at home and back to work tomorrow. Hope the ball will be a good conversation starter

Day 1

Day 1 of my challenge.

Today I start my challenge.  For a week a week the ball be with me will keep everyone updated

Challenge date nearly set

Just had a update today from medicine ball HQ , should have my date soon for my challenge.  Just want to thank my family and friends for taking the time to donated to my challenge.

Hope to see if my work will get involved to see if thay can support my challenge as a few of my work colleagues have expressed a lot of stress anxiety and depression over the challenging times of this civid _19 pandemic

let's get ready

I have never served as a member of her majesty's force's but fully understand the challenging situation that mental health can bring in day to day life, As I have seen close member of  my family and friends struggling with bouts of stress anxiety and depression as well as myself

I am a member of the local army cadet force in my local community and by doing this challenge I want to help raise awareness of all that our soldiers sailor's and airman as well as thos on civilian life have to suffer in silence with .

The date of my medican Ball challenge is still to be set but ready and waiting
