The Cateran Yomp 2024

On the 8 - 9 June 2024, I am taking on the Cateran Yomp. A 54-mile hike in 24 hours across rural Perthshire.

It’s going to be tough but it will raise vital funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.

Please give generously, and thank you for all your support.

The Romp Preparations

The first long run of 2024 is complete. And another event with an army theme. The 32 mile "Imber Ultra" is a circular run around the Salisbury plain firing range. This is my second time on the  event, which is really well organised and supported. My run nearly didn't happen after a bizarre running injury the week before. A trip in a frozen field led to sitting in A&E on a Sunday morning. 15 stitches later and strapped up I felt that the run was going to have to be deferred, as it was only 7 days away. However I decided to take it easy and be fully prepared to drop out. The weather was glorious and I made it to the finish in a similar time to the previous year. Next stop, the 60th Fellsman at the end of April
