I’d like to add a little extra to help cover the fees of maintaining the technology that keeps this platform available for donations. Why?

Two years ago I completed 1 week of the medicine ball challenge and now I am challenging myself to complete 3 weeks! As a teacher, I want to encourage children to talk openly about mental health and that it shouldn't be a taboo subject that is kept secret. I loved the conversations that the challenge started last time and the questions asked by children at school.

So many people experience difficulties with their mental health and face huge daily struggles due to this. This can be for many reasons, and at any age.

I am participating in this challenge because I want to demonstrate the impact that living day to day with poor mental health can have. Carrying the ball represents how exhausting the physical and emotional burden can be, but also the social limitation it can cause.

All money raised will go towards supporting soldiers and their families, but the challenge itself will be raising awareness for people of all ages, backgrounds and situations. It will hopefully start open and honest conversations around mental health, which will lead to help and support for those that need it and encourage a community of mutual respect and tolerance.
