The Frontline Walk 2024: The Western Front

Kentec Training are supporting the Army Benevolent Fund!

We're extremely excited to announce that Dave Keen, our Training Operations Manager, and Matthew Booker, our Marketing Coordinator, will be participating in the Frontline Walk: The Western Front in October 2024!

The Western Front Walk consists of a 100 kilometre trek along the historic Somme and Passchendaele battlefields from the First World War, starting in Arras, France and finishing in the Belgium city of Ypres.

They have decided to participate in this walk for several reasons, primarily to honour the individuals who fought in WWI and WWII for their sacrifices, bravery, and the freedom that we enjoy today.

Dave Keen said "Those of you that know me know that the past 7 years have been tough for me in many ways, but my struggles pale in to insignificance compared to those that paid the ultimate sacrifice. I know that times are hard for everyone, but anything you can spare could make such a difference to a veteran or their families.  Oh, and you get to think of this PT shy ex squaddie that only drives past gyms these days going through some pain! That's got to be worth a couple of quid at least! Many thanks all!"

Matthew Booker told us "I hold a deep respect for those willing to give so much of themselves while asking for so little in return. I also want to push my own boundaries and make a difference for today’s soldiers, veterans, and families in any way I can. Please donate if you can, it means more than you'll ever know!"

As many of you may be aware, a large majority of our instructors are ex-armed forces and performed vital roles such as combat medics, and this walk is in large part in honour of their own courage and selflessness.

Kentec Training has supplied the £150 registration fee for both of our eager trekkers in an effort to show support for their commitment.

Your encouragement and backing means a lot, and you can show your support by donating toward their £2500 fundraising goal. Thank you so much for reading!
