Please help
I attended Remembrance this year like I always do, talking to friends and colleagues, I was shocked to find out how many of them had contemplated suicide, these are people I know and have worked closely with, with a lot of the lads its not always what they've seen or done, its the change in culture from military to civilian, in some cases its going from hero to zero, you join as a young Lad or Lass its a way of life, you put your all into it, then after 22 years when your at the top of your game, your times up you have to leave, I have also had these feelings in the past it takes years to adjust, and has a whole we are useless at talking about how we feel, there is help out there...the ABF is one of many charities that can help, to that end... On the 8 - 9 June 2024, I am taking part in The Cateran Yomp. A 54-mile hike in 24 hours across rural Perthshire.
It’s going to be tough but it will raise vital funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Army's National Charity, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.
